My boy is almost 3...

Enjoying some cake with Mimi at BF's birthday end of August 2015! And totally cracking us up!

I find myself trying to take mental pictures of my children all day long hoping to cherish these tiny years. I just love these days...

Beau loves to read! He wakes up, comes into the play room, crawls up into my rocking chair while I am holding Tessa wanting to read with me.

He is crazy about learning right now! He counts everything, seeings numbers and letters all around his world, along with colors and shapes.

He is amazing at learning songs and even if he isn't sure of the exact letters, he will insert his best guess and keep singing along in the correct tune! This precious boy has my heart!

And the way he is with Tessa blows me away. She's little and doesn't do a lot of cool stuff right now.. But he values her and adores her. She isn't boring to him, she's beautiful and sweet and smiles at him! (All things he has said!) She makes him laugh and he is so proud to show her off.

My sweet first born will be 3 in just 1 week's time.
Typical school day morning for Beau man!

Lots of firsts coming this fall! Including bubba ball! Can't wait to take a picture of him all suited up. We are hoping he loves it but we know there's a chance he may not love it just yet, and that's okay!

I will end this 'Beau is almost 3' post with a list I've been keeping of funny phrases and the way he says some words.. He is so fantastic!

Are you sure?
That's awesome!

Just like me!

Can't wait to make more memories this season!

Beau 2 years & 11 months

This weekend we went to Target with Mimi and Beau was having a little bit of a hard time following directions… Eventually I had to take away his big Dusty and his little Dusty and put him in the shopping cart so that we could finish our trip and get out of there. When we got back home I told Beau that I was sorry for being grumpy and then my plan was to tell him how it is important to listen to mommy when we are in the store because my number one job is to keep him safe.

But before I could finish Beau said "I'm sorry I was grumpy too mommy" and then he put his little hands on my cheeks and kissed me. It was one of my favorite moments of being his mommy and let me tell you, there are about a million!

August mental pictures and real pictures..

I keep trying to find a time to sit down at the computer and jot down so many things I never want to forget about my two beautiful children and this season of our lives. But every time I do there's laundry or dishes or lesson planning or toys to clean up or children to snuggle.

So I am thankful that I can sit here and hold my daughter as she nurses and get some of this down before they change again right before my eyes! This month Beau will be one month away from turning three years old.

He is such an amazing little boy. I have a list on my phone of all the funny phrases that he says and I'm always amazed at how he uses them in the right context! I just can't believe how much she loves Tessa. All day long he's checking in with us giving her lots of kisses and making sure she's OK. If she cries he says it's OK, we're here Tessa. He's very particular about his toys and which ones he plays with when. But he seems to appreciate everything that he has and plays with such a variety of things.

He loves to snuggle. We just started putting him in his own bed after he falls asleep with us in our bed. We never saw ourselves being the bed sharing types but it has been such a sweet blessing and we have made so many fun memories as a family! He is very proud of his bed and if he wakes up in the middle the night we let them come back to bed with us.

Beau will be playing Bubba Ball this fall! It is a step before T-ball. We are hoping that he loves it! We see so much natural ability and him!

Tessa is two months old and about 7 pounds. At her two month appointment she was 6 lbs. 14 oz. which is exactly the weight Beau was when he was discharged at birth! We love our sweet tiny girl! Just like her brother, she sleeps best on my chest. She nurses beautifully and continues to grow! She has started doing this incredible thing where when you're holding her and looking in her eyes she starts to smile over and over again and tonight when I was holding her before her bath she made this beautiful sound like she was trying to laugh.

Tessa was in her preemie clothes until she was eight weeks old and now she is looking super cute in all of her newborn clothes and jammies. I love putting a headband on her! I knew I would love having a girl!
Beau after church- August. I just adore this big boy so much!
Sweet smiles!
